Official opening of Urban Expo held at WUF13

The official opening ceremony of the Urban Expo exhibition took place within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Olaylar informs.

The event was attended by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and National Coordinator of WUF13, together with Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN‑Habitat. They cut the red ribbon to mark the formal launch of the exhibition.

The Urban Expo covers a total area of 35,000 m², with about half dedicated to displays. In total, 260 organizations from 85 countries are represented across 122 stands and pavilions.

Breakdown of participants by category: 15 academic and research institutions, 136 civil society organizations (largest group), 44 private sector representatives, including 14 startups, 41 national government pavilions, 10 state‑owned companies, and 6 local and regional government representatives.

The exhibition brings together national governments, city administrations, international organizations, academia, innovators, and private sector leaders to showcase practical solutions and partnerships for sustainable urban development.
