Azerbaijan plans to present a security model related to tangible and intangible cultural heritage within the framework of WUF13, the Ministry of Culture told Olaylar.
A delegation led by Minister of Culture Adil Karimli is reportedly participating in the 15th session of the ICESCO General Conference held in the city of Kazan, Tatarstan.
During his speech at the session, he noted that President Ilham Aliyev highly values Azerbaijan-ICESCO cooperation and contributes to the further deepening of relations with the organization:
"The declaration of Azerbaijanchr("39")s city of Shusha as the Culture Capital of the Islamic World for 2024, the inclusion of Aghdamchr("39")s Imarat Complex and the Shusha City State Reserve in ICESCOchr("39")s Islamic World Heritage List last year, as well as the international technical missions carried out by ICESCO to our territories liberated from occupation are vivid examples of close cooperation."
The minister emphasized that Azerbaijan believes it is important to apply ICESCOchr("39")s experience in the relevant field to other conflict-affected territories of the Islamic world:
"We are closely cooperating with ICESCO and other international partners to restore tangible and intangible cultural heritage damaged during the conflict and to develop a roadmap and comprehensive concept in this direction. Together with our international partners, including ICESCO, we plan to hold a special session on this topic and present a security model within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum to be organized in Baku next week."
Adil Karimli also noted that ICESCO is one of the main partners of the Baku Process initiated by President Ilham Aliyev in 2008, and invited the event participants to the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue to be held in Baku on October 27-29 of this year within the framework of this platform.
