Azerbaijan and Vatican discuss cooperation in healthcare and pediatrics

Azerbaijani Minister of Health Teymur Musayev discussed the expansion of cooperation in the fields of healthcare and pediatrics with a delegation led by Tiziano Onesti, President of the Vaticanchr("39")s Bambino Gesù pediatric hospital, Olaylar informs, citing the Ministry of Health.

The meeting also discussed joint initiatives on child health protection.

The minister noted that Azerbaijanchr("39")s healthcare system has undergone significant development in recent years as a result of large-scale reforms and state programs:

"Modern medical infrastructure has been created in the country, new hospitals and specialized medical centers have been put into operation, and the implementation of digital healthcare solutions has been expanded. Particularly significant achievements have been made in the fields of pediatrics, thalassemia, and maternal and child health."

Musayev noted that "cooperation with a world-class prestigious medical institution such as the Bambino Gesù pediatric hospital will make a significant contribution to the development of pediatric services in Azerbaijan."

In turn, Onesti highly appreciated the achievements in the healthcare sector in Azerbaijan. He emphasized that Azerbaijanchr("39")s experience in the management of thalassemia and other hereditary diseases is particularly noteworthy and noted that the Memorandum signed between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Health, and the Bambino Gesù pediatric hospital will create opportunities for the implementation of successful joint projects in the future.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation is planned to hold meetings at the ministrychr("39")s Farajova Pediatric Scientific Research Institute, the National Hematology and Transfusiology Center, the Scientific Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Azerbaijan Medical University.
