The Fireland Association of Azerbaijanis in Belgium has taken part in the annual traditional Tervuren festival held in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
Visitors to the Azerbaijani stand were able to receive information about Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani musical instruments, examples of musical culture, national dances and costumes, as well as photo materials about historical monuments attracted significant interest from festival participants. Brochures prepared by the Fireland association in English and French about Azerbaijani carpets and musical instruments also drew attention.
Visitors were additionally offered Azerbaijani food and beverages. Tea from a samovar, compotes made from feijoa, quince, and cornelian cherry, as well as Azerbaijani wines, were met with strong interest. Many guests noted that these unusual tastes were a discovery for them.
The Tervuren festival is traditionally held every May and features hundreds of stands representing various public, cultural, and diaspora organizations from Brussels and surrounding cities. The Fireland Association has been organizing an Azerbaijani stand there for three consecutive years.
The initiative was supported by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Belgium.
