Kallas: EU prioritizes Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization in South Caucasus

The issue of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia will hold an important place on the agenda of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg today, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas stated ahead of the meeting, Olaylar informs.

She noted that the EU considers the stabilization of dialogue between Baku and Yerevan as a key factor in ensuring security and resilience in the South Caucasus. Therefore, the development of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations remains one of the EUchr("39")s foreign policy priorities in the region.

The meeting is expected to discuss future steps to support the normalization process, as well as the possibility of establishing a new EU mission in Armenia.

She emphasized that Brussels intends to continue working with both sides to reduce tensions and advance the peace agenda. For this, maintaining constructive dialogue and achieving long-term agreements between the parties is essential.
