MP: Washington Declaration can be considered first int'l document on Zangazur Corridor

The initialing of a peace agreement with Armenia in Washington demonstrates Azerbaijanchr("39")s principled position regarding the peace process, Azerbaijani MP Rizvan Nabiyev stated at a special session of parliament themed "Washington Agreements: The Triumph of Peaceful Diplomacy and Wise Leadership," Olaylar informs.

Nabiyev highlighted that the Washington Declaration can be considered the first international document on the Zangazur Corridor.

"The Joint Declaration signed in Washington, among other things, reflects President Ilham Aliyevchr("39")s principled position on ensuring unhindered connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan exclave. In this sense, the Washington Declaration can be considered the first international document on the Zangazur Corridor," the parliamentarian noted.

The MP also pointed out that in this international document, Armenia officially recognized the fact that Karabakh was the territory of Azerbaijan both during the Soviet period and during the period of independence: "The Washington agreements are a recognition at the global level of the leadership, strategic vision, and diplomatic mastery of President Ilham Aliyev."
