Azerbaijani taken hostage by Armenian army during Khojaly genocide: They beheaded my husband
15:53 EnDuring an ongoing hearing at the Baku Military Court on August 21, victim Rahila Hajiyeva recounted harrowing experiences from the Khojaly genocide of February 1992, stating that she and her family members were taken hostage by Armenian armed forces, Olaylar informs.
Hajiyeva said her family had originally lived in Khankandi but were forced to relocate to Shusha and later to Khojaly after growing pressures against Azerbaijanis in Khankandi in 1988.
She testified that her husband, who had taken part in the battles, was targeted by Armenian forces: "They beheaded my husband. They threw my ten-year-old daughter from the second floor, breaking her leg. They inflicted immense suffering on us during captivity."
Hajiyeva further described brutal atrocities, including the killing of a pregnant Azerbaijani woman from Khankandi: "Armenian soldiers cut open her belly with a knife and removed the baby."
The trial continues for Armenian citizens accused of crimes against peace and humanity, including war crimes, acts of terrorism, the preparation and execution of aggressive war, genocide, violations of war laws and rules, forcible seizure and retention of power, as well as financing terrorism, among other offenses stemming from Armeniachr("39")s military aggression.
