Hostages taken by Armenian armed forces in Khojaly give testimony in court
15:53 EnDuring the ongoing court hearing at the Baku Military Court August 11, the victim Aybaniz Orujova testified that she was taken hostage along with all her family members, including her twin sons, two days after the Khojaly genocide in 1992, Olaylar informs.
Orujova stated they fled to the forest during the attack on Khojaly, and after staying there for two days, they were taken hostage. Her relatives, including her brother, were killed.
Answering the questions of the state prosecutor, the victim said she was held in Khankandi for 7 days. She was released from captivity on March 20, while her twin sons were released on March 30. "I experienced many tortures in captivity. They would take a knife and place it against my twin childrenchr("39")s throats, threatening to cut off their heads. They caused me such torment," the victim stated.
Victim Hafiza Safarova testified that she and her relatives were taken hostage during an attack on the village of Divanalilar, Fuzuli district on December 7, 1991. She said that during captivity, she was kept in a cold place, and she and other hostages were subjected to mistreatment. While in captivity, her father Karim Safarov was tortured and killed. She was released from captivity after seven days in exchange for gasoline and diesel fuel.
The trial continues for Armenian citizens accused of crimes against peace and humanity, including war crimes, acts of terrorism, the preparation and execution of aggressive war, genocide, violations of war laws and rules, forcible seizure and retention of power, as well as financing terrorism, among other offenses stemming from Armeniachr("39")s military aggression.
