Azerbaijani captured by Armenian forces: 'They would get drunk, take drugs and torture us'

 

During the ongoing court hearing at the Baku Military Court on August 8, the victim Idris Mirzayev stated that he was taken prisoner by the Armenian armed forces in April 1994 in the Tartar district, Olaylar informs.

Mirzayev said he was held in Shusha prison, Aghdara, and Khankandi during his captivity. He was forcibly involved in the construction of pig and chicken farms in the village of Agbulag (Khojavand district - ed.), which was under the occupation of the Armenian armed forces at that time.

During captivity, Mirzayev was beaten, subjected to torture, including having a bottle broken on his head. As a result of the injuries he received, his spine was damaged, which is why he limps.

"They would get drunk, take drugs and torture us," he said.

Habib Aliyev said that in 1992, while serving in the military in Lachin, he was taken prisoner after being wounded during battles. He was beaten and tortured while wounded. A fellow soldier prisoner was burned alive before his eyes. Habib Aliyev spent 1 year and 8 months of his captivity in a basement. He was released from captivity on May 8, 1995.

The trial continues for Armenian citizens accused of crimes against peace and humanity, including war crimes, acts of terrorism, the preparation and execution of aggressive war, genocide, violations of war laws and rules, forcible seizure and retention of power, as well as financing terrorism, among other offenses stemming from Armeniachr("39")s military aggression.
