Azerbaijan, Jordan explore partnership in urban planning

 

Azerbaijan and Jordan have discussed partnership issues in the field of urban planning, Olaylar informs with reference to the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan.

The discussions took place during a meeting between the committeechr("39")s chairman, Anar Guliyev, and Jordanchr("39")s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Omar Barakat Al Nahar.

During the meeting, the parties held a broad exchange of views on the potential opportunities between the two countries in the fields of urban planning, construction and settlement.

They highlighted the importance of establishing relations between the relevant institutions and noted that projects in line with modern and human-oriented urban planning standards are being successfully implemented in Baku and other regions, including the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

The ambassador praised the large-scale construction work carried out in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur. It was underscored that along with the return of people to their native lands, extensive opportunities have been created for their comfortable and safe living.

Guliyev also expressed his gratitude to Jordan for supporting the "Multisectoral Action Pathways for Sustainable and Healthy Cities" Declaration adopted during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

In conclusion, Guliyev invited the Jordanian side to the 3rd Azerbaijan National Urban Planning Forum, as well as the 13th World Urban Forum to be hosted by Baku on May 17-22, 2026.
