Australia thanks Azerbaijan for evacuating Australian citizens from Iran

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong has expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support in the evacuation of Australian citizens from Iran, Olaylar informs referring to the Foreign Ministry.

She made the remark during a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the current security situation caused by the escalation of the confrontation between Israel and Iran.

The Australian foreign minister informed about plans to evacuate her countrychr("39")s citizens from Iran and expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support [in this matter].

The sides also exchanged views on issues on the bilateral agenda and emphasized the importance of developing a consultation mechanism between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
