State commission: Mass grave with remains of at least 7 civilians found on Askaran-Khojaly road

In April, two mass graves were discovered on the liberated territories, one of which located along the Askaran-Khojaly road - contained the remains of at least seven individuals, Eldar Samadov, Deputy Head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons, said.

Samadov as saying expert analysis concluded that the remains belong to civilians who went missing during the First Karabakh War.

The second mass grave, he said, was found near the city of Shusha, at the intersection of the Shusha-Khankandi and Shusha-Lachin roads.

"At least five sets of remains were discovered here. The burial site was uncovered during construction work, and the remains have already been exhumed," Samadov stated.
