Masoud Pezeshkian: 'We have always defended rights of Azerbaijan'

"We have always defended the rights of Azerbaijan and are defending Armenia within its rights," President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian said in an interview with AzTV, speaking about the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Olaylar informs.

"We are trying to ensure that both sides live in peace based on the principles of good neighborliness and support each other," the head of state noted.

Pezeshkian noted that Iran contributed to the creation of a land link between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan: "Today, our assistance lies in the fact that we have taken the initiative to create a land link between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. The project is being implemented very quickly. This has already been agreed upon, and there will be no problems in creating a land link through the territory of Iran between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. We consider Iran a second homeland for Azerbaijanis and will consider it a blessing if they set foot on this land," Pezeshkian said.
