Yeveran's disregard for calls for constitutional change highly concerning

Armeniachr("39")s disregard for the call for constitutional change is highly concerning, Aykhan Hajizada, Spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said, Olaylar informs, citing the ministry.

"Despite being aware of Azerbaijan's long-lasting demand to amend the constitution to end the territorial claims against Azerbaijan, Armenia's continuing disregard of this challenge is highly concerning," he noted while commenting on the statement by the Prime Minister's Office of Armenia concerning border shootings and other anti-Azerbaijani claims.

"We once again reiterate our principled position that the amendment to Armenia's constitution to eliminate the claims against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is a prerequisite to allow the signing of the negotiated text. Furthermore, we emphasize the necessity to formally abolish the obsolete and dysfunctional Minsk Group and related structures of the OSCE," Hajizada said.
