Number of registered crimes decreased in Azerbaijan in 2024

The number of registered crimes decreased in Azerbaijan last year, Azerbaijanchr("39")s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said at an expanded board meeting of the Prosecutor Generalchr("39")s Office.

He noted that 33,379 crimes were registered last year, which is a drop of 3,432 (9.3%) crimes than in 2023.

According to the data, 87.6% of registered crimes were solved. In total, the investigation of 17,155 criminal cases was completed, of which 1,086 were investigated by prosecution authorities.

Also during this period, the prosecution authorities completed preliminary investigations on 735 criminal cases involving 928 persons, and jointly with other investigative bodies, 13,551 criminal cases involving 14,983 persons were investigated and sent to court.
