Earthquake of magnitude 4.4 hits Kazakhstan

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan, said the seismological experimental and methodological expedition of the of Emergency Situations Ministry of Kazakhstan, Olaylar informs via TASS.

"The epicenter of the earthquake is located 108 km east of the city of Almaty on the territory of Kazakhstan. The energy class of the earthquake is 9.1. The magnitude is 4.4," the ministry said. There have been no reports of casualties or damage yet.

At the beginning of March, residents of Almaty felt earthquakes with a magnitude of 5. The epicenter of the earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 was then located 31 km south of Almaty in Kazakhstan.
