The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum held the presentation of the book Code of the Line

On December 20th, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum held the presentation of the first volume of the book Code of the Line by Mammadhuseyn Huseynov, the leading scientific researcher at the Scientific Research and National Heritage Preservation Department of ANCM, Professor of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts, Honoured Artist. Public figures, deputies, representatives of science, culture and literature participated at the event and delivered their speeches on the importance of the new publication based on the long years of research. They also marked that the publication is an irreplaceable source for research on our history and national heritage.

The monograph contains explanations of dots and lines depicted on carpets and the impact these geometrical elements made on the mythological perception of the world by the Azerbaijani nation in particular and Turkic peoples in general. The book also unveils the semantic meanings of the dots and lines depicted on the decorative and applied art samples. The author showed the symbolic features of the lines from the historical and philosophical point of view.

It should be noted that this edition, rich with illustrative materials, will be an important source for future researchers.
