Azerbaijan to allocate 42 million for the production of new generation identity cards

Azerbaijan will allocate 42 million manats ($24.705 million) for the production of new generation identity cards next year, Olaylar informs referring to the Ministry of Finance.

The funds will be directed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On September 1, 2018, Azerbaijan began introducing new generation identity cards with electronic carrier (chip). If information about the place of residence and marital status of the document holder changes, the information on the electronic carrier changes too; there is no need to replace the passport.
