Sahiba Gafarova: President Ilham Aliyev is a Global-Scale Personality, One of the Most Influential World Leaders

This is a quote from the article The Author of the Powerful Azerbaijan and the Great Victory written by Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova and published in the Azerbaijan newspaper. It is emphasised in the article that President Ilham Aliyev is a resolute leader, that the Head of the Azerbaijani State demonstrates his ability to protect and provide for the national interest at the highest level whilst setting an example of a courageous leader set against the power centres accustomed to influencing national policies with blackmail and threats, now ingrained in the system of international relations. 'Acting in accordance with his maxim, 'Nobody can speak to us in the language of dictate!', our Head of State put forth the theses 'Azerbaijan is a Co-operation and not Rivalry Space' and 'Azerbaijan is a Country Uniting Interests'. He follows those theses and demonstrates that our doors are open for everyone applying to us as a friend and a partner whereas Azerbaijan will put back in its place every party attempting to put pressure on our country to make her serve that party's interests.' 

The article says also that President Ilham Aliyev is a victorious war commander who wrote his name in the national history in glowing letters, ended the Azerbaijani people's longing for the Motherland and made the people's dreams come true.

Azerbaijan grows with each passing day right before our eyes. Day by day, Azerbaijan's prowess rises. Azerbaijan is moving towards her goals confidently. Beyond all reasonable doubt, the future, too, has bright days in stock for Azerbaijan. 'This confidence and this unshakeable faith that every Azerbaijani harbours is nurtured by the esteemed President Ilham Aliyev. That is why this date - the 15th of October 2003, the day on which Mr Ilham Aliyev was elected to the summit of the Olympus of power in Azerbaijan - is valuable for us. We are talking about his place and role in the history of our national statehood; we are talking about one of the fateful dates of exceptional importance at the present stage of the independent development of our country.' 

President Ilham Aliyev said after his brilliant election victory, 'I shall be President of every Azerbaijani... I shall be a good President.' That was a pledge given to our nation, according to Mrs Gafarova who remarks that we can see clearly from the modern and powerful Azerbaijan, her leader and all the other promises of the Head of State that that promise had been and is being carried out. Every Azerbaijani has a leader, a president he or she is proud of, one that is the best of the best. He knows better than others what to do, how and when; all issues are resolved in a timely manner following the fill of our Head of State.
