Kamran Aliyev:When Lachin was handed over to Azerbaijan, houses were rendered unusable by order of Armenia
22 İyun 2023 12:34 EnWhen the city of Lachin was handed over to Azerbaijan, the houses were made unusable by the order and special support of the relevant state authorities of Armenia, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev, said at the operational meeting held in liberated Lachin city on June 22.
He said that from the occupation of the city of Lachin until it was handed over to the control of Azerbaijan on August 26, 2022, 1,511 out of 2,020 individual residential houses that were in serviceable condition located in the city were deliberately destroyed by the relevant state bodies of Armenia and people of Armenian nationality illegally settled there.
19 out of 27 common residential buildings were intentionally destroyed, rendered unusable, and 8 were damaged to various extents. In total, 143 out of 190 administrative buildings were deliberately destroyed and 47 were damaged to various extents.
According to Aliyev, when the city of Lachin was handed over to Azerbaijan in August 2022, with the special support and instructions of the relevant state authorities of Armenia, Armenians who lived in 509 private houses belonging to Azerbaijani citizens in the city of Lachin dismantled the walls, ceilings, floors of those houses, doors, and windows were deliberately dismantled, as well as set fires, causing various damage to those houses and rendering them unusable. The same actions were also committed in the villages of the Lachin district.
"The mentioned facts were determined by the reliable evidence of the criminal case investigated by the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutorchr("39")s Office," the Prosecutor General said.
