Azerbaijan prevents drug smuggling from Iran

Servicemen of the Horadiz border detachment of the Border Troops under the Azerbaijani State Border Service on the territory of the border outpost, located near Mughanly village (Zangilan district), prevented the smuggling of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan, Olaylar reports via the service.

As a result of searches and operational measures carried out by border guards, 3.2 kilograms of marijuana were found and confiscated in one bundle, hidden in bushes on the banks of the Araz River.

Operational and investigative measures on the fact are ongoing.

Previously, on May 28 residents of Azerbaijanchr("39")s Shahseven village Ibrahim Guliyev and Jeyhun Ahmadov were detained by servicemen of the Horadiz border detachment of the Border Troops under the State Border Service on the territory of the border outpost located near a village of Beylagan district of the country while attempting to violate the state border in order to smuggle drugs from Iran.
