Reforms in the field of human rights, the foundation of which was laid by Heydar Aliyev, are currently carried on, Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsperson) Sabina Aliyeva said at the scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyevchr("39")s birth themed "National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the development of human rights in independent Azerbaijan", Olaylar informs.

She noted that as a result of the progressive reforms carried out by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the direction of the development of social-political, socio-economic, and cultural-humanitarian fields, the strengthening of national statehood, and the protection of human rights and freedoms, Azerbaijan has achieved great success.

"Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, whose dear memory is always deeply respected by our people, had an outstanding role in the implementation of legal reforms related to the establishment of a democratic, legal state and civil society, the development of human rights, and the establishment of the Ombudsman institution, which is an independent non-judicial legal protection mechanism. Several strategically important documents were prepared, approved and executed in order to achieve more effective provision of human rights and freedoms directly on the initiative of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev at different stages of development of Azerbaijan," she said.
