Kazakhstan aims to develop economic co-op with Azerbaijan

Kazakhstan is taking all possible steps to develop comprehensive cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres with Azerbaijan, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Astana in a narrow format, Olaylar informs referring to Sputnik-Kazakhstan.

"We are focused on very serious work to develop economic interaction and cooperation with Azerbaijan, which plays a leading role in the South Caucasus region. There are no problems between us. There is only a desire to move forward in this direction," Tokayev said.

He also noted that the Kazakh side intends to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the political arena, "be it a bilateral format or international organizations."

Tokayev thanked the president of Azerbaijan for accepting the invitation and visiting Astana. The president of Kazakhstan noted that his August visit to Baku was "absolutely fruitful."

"Now there is a need to check the work carried out by the governments of the two countries in pursuance of the instructions of the presidents. I would like to note that Azerbaijan is a fraternal, very close state for Kazakhstan," Tokayev stressed.
