Hikmat Hajiyev met with US National Security Adviser in Washington

Recently, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, during his Washington visiting holds important meetings there, reports Olaylar via the statement of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger.

He noted that Hikmat Hajiyev met in Washington with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.

According to the diplomat, Hikmat Hajiyev and Jake Sullivan particularly discussed the peace process in region.

"We believe that the United States can play an important role in the normalization process between the sides. We now see and support the success of the EU in dealing with the sides. They are mediating direct contacts and meetings between the sides, as well as the delimitation of borders and the opening of communications in the region are being discussed," the ambassador said.
