"Armenia needs in to normalize relations with us, put down territorial claims to Azerbaijan and to Turkey" - Ilham Aliyev

It's obviously for the time being Azerbaijan main concentration is how to rebuild Karabakh and to return the former refugees as soon as possible, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with participants of the international conference "South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation," Olaylar reports.

"At the same time our peace agenda and initiatives which have been publicly articulated and supported by international community aimed at the regional development and the new opportunities for the regional development in the South Caucasus not only between Azerbaijan and Armenia - of course it is one of the most important element of the regional cooperation - but in the South Caucasus in general. We lost this opportunity for 30 years because of the separatism and Armenian aggression and the South Caucasus was not integrated," he noted.

"Yes, there's a very close cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia, which, on bilateral and international level, already presents its importance but at the same time there should be also understanding in Armenia that they cannot continue to live like an isolated island. They need to normalize relations with us, put down the territorial claims to Azerbaijan and to Turkey and not to be hesitant on any kind of relations on trilateral level in the South Caucasus," Ilham Aliyev added.
