Putin, Biden accept proposal to hold summit

French President Emmanuel Macron has proposed a summit between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden, and both sides accepted the offer, Olaylar informs citing RIA Novosti.

"He [Macron] proposed a summit between President Biden and President Putin, and then with all interested sides on security and strategic stability in Europe. Presidents Biden and Putin accepted the idea of such a summit in principle," reads the statement.

The summit can only take place if "Russia doesn't invade Ukraine." Moscow categorically rejects plans attributed to it by the West to attack a neighboring country.

The summit agenda will be prepared by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during their February 24 meeting
