Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office about "Tartar case"
9 Fevral 2022 13:22 EnThe investigative team led by the Azerbaijani first deputy prosecutor general resumed the investigation into criminal cases in connection with the illegal actions of some servicemen of the military units of the Ministry of Defense located in Tartar, Aghdam, and Beylagan districts, committed from May through June 2017, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor Generalchr("39")s Office told Trend, Olaylar reports.
"Among the illegal actions was the process of interrogating of the individuals suspected of committing illegal actions, using physical and psychological violence, torture, inhuman and degrading treatment which resulted in death and other grave consequences," the message said. "The investigative actions have been intensively carried out in all spheres since December 16, 2021."
According to the message, 163 more people were detected and recognized as victims over the past period, who were thoroughly interrogated on all the circumstances of the case and the forensic medical expertise was carried out.
"Thus, 281 victims have been detected in these criminal cases so far, including those detected during the previous investigation into the facts of torture," the message said.
