Turkey authorizes 191 soldiers' arrest over FETO
9 İyun 2020 13:22 EnTurkish security authorities on June 9 launched multiple operations in various provinces to detain suspects affiliated with the FETO - the group behind the bloody failed coup attempt of 2016, Olaylar reports via turkish media.
The Prosecutorchr("39")s office in Izmir, Turkey, has issued an arrest warrant for 191 soldiers - including current 181soldiers and police on suspicion of links to Fethullah Gulen, Report says, citing Anadolu Agency.
Raids have reportedly taken place in 16 provinces of Turkey.
Security sources also announced that 145 of the suspects were detained.
FETO and its US-based leader Fetullah Gülen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people killed and nearly 2,200 injured.
Turkey also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
