Yemen reports first coronavirus case

The first person tested positive for COVID-19 in Yemen, Olaylar reports, citing TASS.

"We have received data on the first confirmed case of infection recorded in Hadhramaut province," the National Emergency Committee to combat the spread of the coronavirus said in a statement.

The Committee has not provided any details about the state of the infected person.

On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced an outbreak of pneumonia in the city of Wuhan. The causative agent of the disease is a new type of coronavirus, which has the official name COVID-2019.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a new type of coronavirus pandemic in the world.
