Turkey’s opposition creating coalition at parliamentary election
2 May 2018 13:52 EnTurkeychr("39")s opposition Republican Peoplechr("39")s Party (CHP), Good Party (Iyi Parti), Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi) and Democratic Party (Demokrat Parti) are creating a coalition at the parliamentary election to be held in the country June 24, Turkish media reported May 2.
The opposition parties may put forward a single candidacy for the post of Turkeychr("39")s president at the presidential election to be held on the same day.
It is expected that the presidential candidate from the opposition will be revealed in the coming days.
Eleven political parties will participate in the early parliamentary and presidential election, to be held in Turkey on June 24.
In the parliamentary election held in Turkey on November 1, 2015, the Justice and Development Party won 49.41 percent of the votes, the CHP - 25.38 percent of the votes, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) - 11.93 percent, the Peopleschr("39") Democratic Party (HDP) - 10.7 percent of the votes.
