Call to the Responsible World Community: Currently one fifth of the Azerbaijani territories is under the occupation by Armenians for 25 years. In the occupied territories some 1.5 million people are subjected to ethnical cleansing and have been forced to leave their own homes and lands by Armenians.

Call to the Responsible World Community: Currently one fifth of the Azerbaijani territories is under the occupation by Armenians for 25 years. In the occupied territories some 1.5 million people are subjected to ethnical cleansing and have been forced to leave their own homes and lands by Armenians. Mass killings which could well be categorized as genocide and war crimes along with crimes against humanity have been committed. While cities were subjected to destruction cemeteries, tombs, grave-top monumentsthat have of great historical significance and places of worship have been devastated. The total damage in the occupied territories is estimated to be as much as 143 billion dollars per expert reports of international institutions and organisations. This occupation has been called "illegal" seizure of lands and condemned by the international law. There are various resolutions taken by United Nations Security Council (822, 874, 884 and 853) and General Assembly (62/243) as well as the European Parliament (1416) regarding this. All of the resolutions which emphasised the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, demanded immediate withdrawal of Armenian forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories. To our regret, none of these resolutions could be implemented so far. What is the reason of it? In recent history we know very well how such resolutions regarding the occupations that have taken place in both former Yugoslavia and Kuwait could successfully be executed The simple answer to that question is that: nobody cares about the Nagorno-Karabakh war, occupied Azerbaijani territories and 1.5 million people who have been displaced and ethnically cleansed. We express our deepest indignation and condemnation in the face of this ignorance and negligence which is a real disgrace for entire mankind. It should also be considered that a new war which might break out between Azerbaijan and Armenia would have a whole different dimension this time as both TURKEY MONUMENTS ASSOCIATION (1946) A N K A R A sides continuously arm their own armies. World community should pay attention to the fact that the consequences of such a war carries all the risk and potential of endangering not only the regional security but also the entire world peace. Thus, it goes without saying that this needs to be prevented. Our demands: 1. The request of UNESCO for on-site monitoring of the status of the historical and cultural assets on the occupied territories, by impartial experts with a broad participation, has to be fulfilled immediately. 2. The resolutions of UN, requesting the Armenian forces to withdraw from Azerbaijani territories, must be executed with an immediate effect. 3. Return of displaced and ethnically cleansed Azerbaijani Turks to their own homelands must be ensured. All countries, particularly Russia, must be banned from selling weapons to the parties of the war. 4. The countries in the region, particularly Turkey and Russia, must play a truthful part and take responsibility to settle the problem. 5. An aid fund must be established under the roof of UN to restore the destruction in the region. 6. 143 billion dollar worth of total material damage which occurred during the occupation must be collected from Armenia. 7. Armeniachr("39")s outdated Metsamor nuclear power plant which poses a serious risk for Turkey and the countries in the region, also which Armenia announced that it would use the facility to produce nuclear weapons when needed has to be shut down immediately.
