Indian cotton expert visited Azerbaijan to explore cooperation in cotton cultivation
As decided during the 5th Meeting of the India-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission held in New Delhi in October 2018, Government of India deputed an expert on cotton, Dr. V.N. Waghmare, to Azerbaijan to explore collaboration with Azerbaijan in cotton cultivation. Dr. Waghmare, Director of the Central Institute for Cotton Research (CICR), Nagpur (pioneer cotton research Institute in India) visited Azerbaijan for a week from 27 October 2019. The visit was closely coordinated by the Embassy of India, Baku, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Republic of Azerbaijan.
Jewish Republican Alliance hosts Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Los Angeles
At the invitation of the Jewish Republican Alliance (JRA), Consul General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles Nasimi Aghayev addressed the JRA’s San Fernando Valley chapter in California on November 1, 2019. Consul General Nasimi Aghayev informed the JRA members about Azerbaijan’s history of independence and stated that in 1918, the people of Azerbaijan established the very first Republic in their history - the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. He noted that it was also the first ever secular democracy among all Muslim nations and the first majority-Muslim nation to grant women the right to vote.
Azerbaijan to host 4th Vistula Polish Film Festival
On 12th of November ‘Vistula’ Polish Film Festival will visit Baku for the 4th time. Cinema enthusiasts will have a chance to participate in free screenings at cinema hall of Landmark Jazz Club “’The Rotunda -1” (90A Nizami street). ‘Vistula’ is aimed to unite the best new Polish movies which are loved not only in their homeland, but also already acknowledged by forghein viewers.
